Jeddah is the commercial
capital of Saudi Arabia. Its location along the eastern coast of the
Red Sea serves as an entrance to the rest of the Arabian Peninsula,
making Jeddah’s ports the main thoroughfare for trade. The name
Jeddah means the "Ancestor of Women" because the tomb of
Eve was believed to have been there.
